Gong Hey Fat Choy 2012

I was able to experience the authentic Chinese New Year in Hongkong last year. Chinese are very extravagant when it comes to celebration. Money was never an issue. I was surprised how generous they are in giving leisee. I was timid then in accepting the envelope. Glad I did!

Celebrating Chinese New Year in Hongkong was really memorable. The Mandarin orange kumquat and Fortune Bamboos were practically everywhere. It was my first time to see Peach Blossom, Golden Money Plant and Pussy Willow. I remember I was tasked to lift a big plant pot heavier than me. I thought I was going to faint! Oh, I didn't mind, I received $500 in return anyway. Hooray! I miss eating the stinky but yummy radish cake called law bok gow (lo4 baak6 gou1), the steamed Bao and dumplings! I miss the fried tofu and the extra-ordinary scrambled egg for dinner. I miss the cold wind and festive atmosphere. Clothing shop sales were unbelievable!

The Chinese symbol for Happy New Year is 恭禧發財, its literal translation is "Congratulation fortune". The most common way of greeting Happy New Year is Gong Xi Fa Cai (Mandarin) and Gong Hey Fat Choy (Cantonese). The word "Gong Xi" means congratulations or respectfully wishing one's joy. "Fa Cai" means to make money. When someone greets Gong Hey at Choi, a fun way of response is "Hong Pao Na Lai" or Red Envelope Please! I used this phrase several times last year and believe me, you wont get disappointed.

According to Feng Shui experts, my good fortune luck (Rooster) is shining bright this year. There are so many things and opportunities appear on the horizon just waiting to manifest for me. A year to expand and move into new level of achievements to pursue almost anything I wish as it is most certain that it will turn out positively. My wealth luck is good. It's going to be a benchmark year for me. I believe and already feel it.

GONG XI FA CAI EVERYONE!!!!

The New Old Me :)

"And in the end, it's not the years in your like that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

Today is one of the awesomest day of my life not because I read a favorable horoscope but because it's my birthday! Yey! I don't depend my life in astrology buy hey, who would ignore a positive prediction. And the good about birthday is, it gives us the opportunity to stop, count and think about all the beautiful things that we have blessed with. The year 2011 was a blast for me. I married a wonderful person, I was able to travel abroad and domestically. I ate, savor, and enjoy different foods. My love ones are healthy. My friends are all super. I have a good job at home. Business is doing fine. Money comes easy. Although there are some delayed blessings, it's all right. I'm not in a hurry. I know, I'll receive all of those in due time.
So, what do I have now? The 2012 has lots to offer me. I mean big time! My dream of a College degree is on its way. The opportunity guru is handling me a stable and fulfilling job. The money master just signed a bounty wealth for me. The travel planner has lay down its itinerary local and abroad. Health and safety are my priorities.
So, what now? Alright, this year, I'll try to be more patient. I've been patient since but I wish to add more. This year 2012, my goal is to acquire a property and build a house that I will call 'home'. I'm dreaming of this Mediterranean inspired house with spacious rooms, grand stairs, really nice kitchen and big windows adorned with beautiful curtains!  I claim that this year, my husband Jovic will acquire his Honda Super 4 Bike. It's gonna be a dream no more. It'll be ours.
May the power of the Universe hear me and grant my desire. In return, I will work hard to make it happen. I will live a happy life in every circumstances. I will dedicate my journey to the Lord. Everything will be possible. I chose to believe.
As I light my birthday candle, I think all the people who have touched my life. I Thank you. You are all fantastic!

Wishlist

Hay! Christmas is just around the corner. It's the time of gift giving. I wish to receive gadget to toy with.

Cannon DSLR camera. I like to take pictures whenever I travel. A good camera will preserve the experience. History isn't complete without photographs.

I can't wait to slide my fingers in this Samsung 19100G. It's sleek design and back panel attracted me most. The ultimate artisa phone! I've been seeing this kind of phone in most Korean dramas. No wonder, it is one of their leading electronics companies.

I just love white, a color without hue at one extreme end of the scale of grays. What I like about it is the iBook application for reading text in ePub format. Brilliant!

That's it for Christmas. It's just a wishful thinking. There is so much of me that I can thank for. Amidst of the tragedies in the Philippines, I should be asking for something that would benefit the majority. Dreaming of these gifts is unselfish when I can practically live without them. Anyways, its Jesus' birthday, not mine.
